I suggest visiting on a weekday, especially in the morning. It's much less crowded, and you can really soak in the peaceful vibe of the gardens without the hustle and bustle of a weekend crowd.

I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. You’ll do quite a bit of walking, and the pathways are beautiful but can be uneven in places, so be prepared to stroll around comfortably.

Check the weather before you go. I went on a sunny day and it was gorgeous, but a cooler time of year or cloudy day would be more pleasant if you're planning to stay for a while
