Wear comfortable shoes! The gardens are expansive, and you'll want to explore all the pathways without sore feet. I didn't think about it and regretted it after a couple of hours!

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The gardens are bigger than they appear, and I ended up regretting my cute but totally impractical sandals.

Don’t forget your camera! The views of the Douro River are amazing, especially during golden hour around 7 PM. So worth the wait!
