If you're into architecture, take note of the surrounding buildings as well. There’s a lot of beautiful design influences around the area worth admiring.

I recommend visiting during late spring or early autumn when the weather is pleasant. Avoid the cold winter months if you can – it's much nicer when it's warm.

Check out the nearby cafes for lunch instead of eating near the bridge. You can find some tasty local spots that won’t break the bank.

If you can, visit in the morning around 9 AM when the crowds are thin. You'll get better photos without all the tourists poking around.
Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky
Yusupov Palace on the Moika

Take your time exploring the gardens after the tour! They’re less crowded and a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the palace.

I suggest getting your tickets online before visiting. It saves you from waiting in long lines at the ticket office, and you can just stroll right in!
If you're planning to take photos, visit in the late afternoon. The golden hour light makes the interiors even more stunning and atmospheric.
Smolny Cathedral
Nikolo-Epiphany Naval Cathedral
Get there around 10 AM when it opens to avoid the crowds and really enjoy the tranquility of the cathedral. It’s a peaceful spot in the early hours.

if you’re into stunning dome artwork, bring a camera! the interior is breathtaking, but some spots can be tricky to photograph due to the lighting.

Consider taking public transport instead of taxis. The bus and metro will drop you close to the cathedral, and it saves you some rubles for other fun stuff!
