Summer Garden

Bring a snack or picnic; there are lovely spots to sit and relax. I spent a lovely hour just people-watching!

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 8 AM, to enjoy the serene atmosphere without the crowds. Plus, the morning light is perfect for photos.

Definitely take your time exploring the smaller pathways—some hidden art and sculptures are easy to miss if you stick to the main paths!

I think it's worth packing a portable charger. I took tons of pics, and my battery was drained by the end of my visit!
Catherine Park

Check the weather beforehand! I got caught in a random rain shower. An umbrella can save your day if the forecast isn't looking good.

Bring snacks and drinks with you! The cafes inside the park can be pricey, and some benches are perfect for a little picnic
Lower Park

Wear comfy shoes! The park is quite expansive with lovely paths, but after a day of walking, your feet will thank you for good footwear.

Consider bringing a picnic – the park has lovely spots to relax, and eating in the park saves you from overpriced café options. Just pack some snacks and drinks!

don’t miss the fountains, especially during the summer when they’re in full show. check the fountain schedule when you arrive so you time your visit right!
Peter the Great Botanical Garden

I suggest checking their event calendar before you go. I stumbled upon a seasonal flower sale that was so cool, and I ended up bringing home a plant!
Field of Mars

If you can visit the Field of Mars during weekday mornings like around 9 or 10 AM. It's way less crowded then so you can enjoy the peace and snap some great pics without a ton of other tourists getting in the way

Check out some local events that might be happening! I found out too late about a concert in the park. A fun way to experience the local culture without spending too much!

Don't miss the eternal flame! It's super meaningful, and I thought it was the highlight of the park. Bring some flowers to lay down for a personal touch if you want.

My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The pathways can be a bit uneven, and you'll want to stroll around without your feet killing you halfway through. I learned that the hard way.
Tsarskoe Selo

Definitely explore beyond the Amber Room. The Catherine Palace is stunning, but I found the lesser-known areas and parks just as enchanting and way less crowded.

Bring snacks and water! There are cafes, but they’re a bit pricey and often crowded. I wished I had packed a picnic to enjoy in the gardens

if you can, arrive right when they open at 10 am to beat the crowds. i made the mistake of going later and missed some great photo ops in the less busy areas.

Wear comfortable shoes! Between walking through the palace and the vast gardens, my feet were killing me by the end of the day. Make sure to enjoy every corner without the pain!
Leningrad Zoo
Planet Neptune Oceanarium
Alexander Park

Check out the beautiful view of the Great Cascade, especially around sunset! I think it adds a magical touch to your photos. Just get there around 6 PM for the best light.

Wear comfortable walking shoes. The paths are lovely but can get a bit uneven in places. I had to slow down once I realized my flip-flops weren’t a good choice.

Bring a picnic! I found a nice spot near the pond. It’s a budget-friendly option and makes for a relaxing afternoon. Just remember to clean up afterward!
