Granada Cathedral
Explore the surrounding area after your visit. The Plaza de las Pasiegas is lively with great cafes, perfect for grabbing a coffee and soaking it all in.
bring earphones and download an audio guide app beforehand. it gave me a deeper understanding of the history without relying on crowded group tours.
Buy the combo ticket that includes the Royal Chapel; it saves you a few euros and lets you explore both must-see sites in one trip without rushing.
Try to visit the Cathedral around 10 AM to avoid the main crowds. I went in the afternoon and it was pretty packed, which made it hard to appreciate the space fully
Royal Chapel
Generalife
Keep an eye out for free walking tours around the area. I accidentally stumbled upon one that was super informative, and I definitely got more out of my visit!
I recommend visiting Generalife in the early morning around 9 AM. It was so much less crowded and I could really enjoy the gardens. Later in the day, it gets super packed and you can't take nice photos!
You should definitely take your time to explore the hidden corners and details. I rushed through at first and missed a lot of the beautiful landscaping elements. Slow down and enjoy the beauty; trust me, you'll thank yourself later!
Plaza Isabel La Catolica
If you're up for a snack, there's a little café nearby that sells amazing tapas. Grab a bite, and you won’t regret it – but don’t go on a full stomach!
My advice is to take a moment to sit on one of the benches and soak in the atmosphere. I was rushing around, and when I finally sat down, it was such a nice break!
Lastly, I thought it would be a quick stop, but I ended up spending a couple of hours there. So plan your time accordingly so you don't miss anything!
Granada Charterhouse
Basilica of San Juan de Dios
Bring a camera! The interiors are stunning and you won’t want to miss snapping pics of the beautifully detailed altar – just be respectful of other visitors
Puerta Elvira
I recommend visiting Puerta Elvira in the early morning like around 9 AM. It’s way less crowded then and you can really soak in the beautiful arches without the hustle and bustle.
Monastery of Saint Jerome
I think the entrance fee is totally worth it for how beautiful the monastery is, but don’t forget to check if they're offering any discounts for students or seniors on specific days!
