Shifen Waterfall
Wear comfy shoes! The paths can get slippery with mist from the falls. I saw several people struggle in flip-flops and trust me you don't want to end up on a trip!
I recommend visiting early, like around 9 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the best light for photos. I came later and it was sooo packed!
My advice is to check the weather for rain before you go. The falls can be hidden in fog, and I missed a clear view because of it. So keep an eye out!
Lin Ben Yuan Family Mansion and Garden
I suggest checking the weather in advance; I went during a rain shower and it made walking around the gardens tough!
If you’re short on time, just focus on the main garden areas; some of the smaller paths can be skipped unless you want a longer stroll.
823 Memorial Park
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The pathways can be a bit uneven and you'll want to explore every corner without hurting your feet.
I recommend visiting the park early around 8 AM to catch a peaceful atmosphere before the crowds arrive. It's a perfect time for taking photos with fewer people in the background.
New Taipei Metropolitan Park
Make sure to visit the eastern side of the park for the best views of the sunset. I couldn’t believe how stunning it was!
If you're into photography, golden hour is your friend! Aim for around 6 PM for great light, trust me, it’s worth it.
I suggest hitting the park early, around 7 AM, to enjoy the fresh air and avoid crowd. It’s so peaceful then!
Don’t buy snacks at the park entrance—way overpriced! There’s a local supermarket just a short walk away... Stock up there instead
Linkou Community Sports Park
I suggest bringing some snacks and drinks with you. There aren’t many food stalls inside the park, and prices can be a bit high. I ended up paying way too much for just a bottle of water!
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The park is larger than it looks, and I felt pretty tired walking around after just an hour. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
