Griffith Park
Venice Beach Boardwalk
Just a heads up, parking can be a nightmare! I suggest using the city parking lots rather than street parking to avoid tickets and towing headaches.
I think it’s a good idea to bring a reusable water bottle. Water fountains are available, and you’ll save money instead of buying drinks all day.
Dockweiler Beach
Bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas if you can. Rental prices can add up quickly, and it’s more comfy when you have your own stuff. I regretted not bringing mine and ended up sitting on the sand
Pack a picnic! It's a great way to save money on food and enjoy the beach atmosphere. I found a nice spot and just relaxed while munching away instead of spending a lot at nearby cafes.
Will Rogers State Beach
If you plan to rent beach gear, I recommend checking out some local shops in the area instead of the rental places right on the beach, it's way cheaper and you'll find some cool stuff.
Don’t forget to explore the trails behind the beach! It’s easy to miss but offers really nice views and it’s quieter away from the crowd. I loved the peaceful feel away from the sandy chaos.
Exposition Park
I suggest checking out the California Science Center first, especially if you're into interactive exhibits. It can get crowded, so I recommend getting there by 10 AM for the best experience.
My tip: Don't miss the Rose Garden, it’s usually quiet and a perfect spot for some great photos. Try to go in the early afternoon when the light is best
Pacific Park
If you’re into the arcade games, make sure you get a reloadable game card. I wasted time fumbling with coins the first time around, and a card just makes everything smoother!
I suggest getting there right when it opens at 11 AM to beat the crowds and enjoy the rides without long lines. Trust me, some rides can get pretty busy later on.
I think it’s smart to bring your own snacks and drinks to save money... Food inside the park can be a bit pricey, and while it's not bad, it's not exactly gourmet either
Los Angeles Zoo
Bring your own snacks and drinks. Food inside is expensive, and there’s lots of places to picnic if you want a break from the exhibits.
Grab your tickets online instead of at the gate! It saves you some time and they sometimes have discounts available online too.
Wear comfortable shoes! You’ll be doing a lot of walking, and there are some hills too. I learned this the hard way!
Griffith Observatory
If you can avoid weekends! It gets super crowded making parking a hassle. During weekdays it’s way more chill and easier to explore.
Make sure to download the Griffith Park app. It helps with hiking trails and gives info on some cool nearby attractions that you might miss otherwise
I recommend visiting around 3 PM. The sunset views from the observatory are stunning and you can catch the evening stars, which is a really great experience.
My advice is to check out the planetarium shows! They’re educational and really entertaining, but get your tickets early to avoid long lines.
Grand Park LA
Don’t skip the fountains! They’re perfect for cooling off, especially on hot days. Just be sure to bring a change of clothes if you plan to play!
Check out the various food trucks parked around the area. They offer great local eats, and you'll save money compared to dining at nearby restaurants.
Beverly Gardens Park
Don't forget sunscreen! I got a bit sunburned even though I didn’t think it was that sunny. Better safe than sorry, right?
