Haulover Park

If you're planning to rent umbrellas or chairs, don't wait until the last minute. I suggest securing them online ahead of time to save some cash because the prices on-site can be a bit steep

If you're into fishing, bring your gear! I spotted many people catching fish right from the shore, so it's a fun option if you have the time.

I highly recommend arriving before 10 AM to snag a good parking spot and get that morning beach vibe. It fills up fast trust me!

My advice is to pack your own snacks. The food options are a bit pricey, and you can save a ton just by bringing your own cooler.
Crandon Park

Parking can be a pain, so consider using the free shuttle. It’ll save you time and gas, and you won't have to stress about finding a spot.

I think it's worth checking the events calendar before you go. We stumbled upon a cool event that made our visit extra special, but I wish we’d planned for it!

If you're like me and love to chill on the beach, try to get there by 9 AM to snag a good spot. The later it gets, the harder it is to find a nice little nook!
Haulover Naturist Beach

If you're new to naturism, don’t worry about being perfect. Everyone’s super friendly, so just relax and enjoy. Honestly, you’ll feel less self-conscious after a while!

Bring plenty of sunscreen, even if it looks cloudy. I got sunburned in areas I didn’t think would get hit, but I learned my lesson the hard way!
Bayfront Park

Check out the open-air market on weekends. It's a great way to find unique local crafts and tasty snacks. I found some awesome souvenirs there!

If you're using public transport, the Metromover is super handy. It drops you right at the park, and it's free! Way better than stressing about parking!
Don't forget sunscreen! Even if it's cloudy, the sun can sneak up on you. I learned that the hard way after a day out.

Bring a reusable water bottle. There are water fountains around, so you can save some cash instead of buying drinks. Plus, it's eco-friendly.
Amelia Earhart Park

Pack a picnic and some snacks! There are nice spots to relax and enjoy lunch without spending money at food stalls.

If you plan to bike, rent one from a nearby shop instead of the park. It’s usually cheaper and you get a better selection.

I recommend going early in the morning around 8 AM to beat the heat and the crowds. You'll get a quieter experience and can explore the trails at your own pace.
Oleta River State Park

I think the nature trails are worth exploring. I missed them the first time, so definitely take a map from the visitor center. It’ll help you navigate and discover hidden gems!

Check out the beach area. It's super chill and great for a picnic. Just remember to bring a towel because I didn't and ended up sitting on the sand!

I really enjoyed kayaking on the river, but I suggest you rent a kayak early in the day to avoid lines. The rental opens at 9 AM, and it gets busy really fast

Make sure to pack a cooler with snacks and water. There aren’t many places to grab food, and it's way cheaper than buying stuff in the park.
South Pointe Park Pier

Get there around sunrise, like 6:30 AM, for a stunning view and fewer crowds. Trust me, it's magical and perfect for pics!

Check out the local art installations along the way. They kinda popped up unexpectedly for me, but it really added a nice touch to the whole vibe.
Miami Sekvarium

I recommend packing your own snacks and drinks. The food options inside are decent, but a bit pricey, and you can easily find a nice spot to enjoy your own picnic outside.
I suggest taking advantage of the educational programs if you have kids with you. They're fun and engaging, but be sure to look at the schedule when you arrive so you don’t miss them. This also helped keep my kids entertained!

My advice is to buy tickets online before your visit. It can save you a chunk of time waiting in line, and sometimes there are discounts for online purchases that you can take advantage of!

I think you should definitely check out the feeding sessions; they're pretty cool and give you a chance to see the animals up close. Just be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to snag a good spot.
Park Museum

i suggest hitting up the museum right when it opens at 10 am. it was way less crowded, and we got to check out the exhibits at our own pace without feeling rushed.

I recommend bringing a water bottle. There are some places to fill it up, and it helped me save a bit of cash instead of buying pricey drinks inside.

I think you should check the museum’s calendar before you go. During my visit, there was a cool temporary exhibit, and I had no idea until I got there!
Haulover Sandbar

I recommend bringing a cooler with snacks and drinks because food options can be pricey around there. You'll save money and have more fun lounging around.

Pack some beach chairs or a blanket; the sand can get really hot in the afternoon. Also, having a comfortable spot makes all the difference when lounging!

If you can, rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the area more authentically. It's a great way to see marine life and it's super chill!
