Savannah Historic District

For a unique view, I suggest bringing a camera for the sunset at River Street. Grab a drink from one of the local bars, and it's the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring.

Don't skip the ghost tours, but I think it's best to book in advance, especially in October. They fill up quickly, and you'll get a better price if you reserve early online!

If you're looking to save some cash, try eating at the food trucks around Forsyth Park. They're affordable and offer great local flavors. Avoid the touristy restaurants in the area, as they're usually pricier and not as good.
The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist

I suggest spending some time in the courtyard outside too. It's beautiful and often overlooked by most visitors. Great spot for some pics or just to relax for a bit!

Don't forget to take your time admiring the details, especially the altar. I rushed through and missed some really stunning features. Just a minute or two makes a huge difference!

My advice is to pack a snack if you plan to stay a while. There’s not much around for food right at the Cathedral, and you'll want to enjoy the tranquility without worrying about hunger.

I think visiting early in the morning around 9 AM is the way to go. The light streaming through the stained glass is just magical, and there are fewer people, so you can really soak it all in.
Chippewa Square

i recommend checking out the surrounding squares too! chippewa is lovely, but the nearby squares like lafayette offer more photo spots and peaceful vibes. you can walk between them and save time.

Don’t forget your camera! The square is super photogenic with those old trees and classic architecture. I missed some great shots because I didn’t plan for it.

My advice is to bring a snack. There are benches to sit on, and it’s nice to relax with a little bite while soaking in the architecture and history. I wish I'd had a drink with me.

I think visiting Chippewa Square in the morning around 9 AM is the best. Fewer crowds and you can enjoy the serenity before the tourists swarm in. Plus, the lighting for photos is awesome!
Fountain at Forsyth Park

Check out the local artisans and food stalls nearby. I stumbled upon some unique souvenirs and delicious snacks that made my trip even better!

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The paths are lovely but you’ll want to explore more of Forsyth Park and trust me you’ll do a lot of walking!

I suggest visiting the fountain early in the morning around 8 AM to avoid the crowds and get some amazing photos without people in them. The light is gorgeous too!
Johnson Square

I recommend grabbing a coffee from a nearby cafe before heading to the square. It makes the strolling around much more enjoyable! Plus, there's usually great people-watching going on

I think you should take a moment to sit on one of the benches and soak in the atmosphere. It really adds to the whole experience! I missed that part trying to rush through.
Jepson Center for the Arts
Plan to visit on a Thursday if you can. They usually have extended hours and often a fun event happening then, which makes for a lively atmosphere.

Check out the special exhibitions before you go! I missed one that sounded amazing, and I felt bummed later. Staying updated online can save you a lot of time and disappointment.
Waving Girl Statue

I suggest visiting the Waving Girl Statue in the early morning, around 8 AM, to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fresh air. It makes for great photos without too many people around.

If you're looking for a good spot to grab a meal after your visit, head to nearby River Street. You can find several budget-friendly eateries with a lovely view of the water.

I recommend checking out the nearby historic district while you’re there. It's just a short walk away and totally worth the time to explore the beautiful surroundings.
American Prohibition Museum

If you can, visit on a weekday morning around 10 AM. The crowd was way lighter, and it felt more personal.

I suggest getting the audio guide; it really brings the exhibits to life and you can go at your own pace. Totally worth the extra couple of bucks!

Make sure you allocate at least 2 hours to fully soak in everything. I rushed through, and I wish I had taken my time to read all the info.

Check out their gift shop before you leave! They have some unique Prohibition-themed souvenirs that are reasonably priced and make for great gifts.
The Owens–Thomas House & Slave Quarters

I recommend getting there right at 11 a.m... to beat the crowds... The house gets really packed later, and you won't want to miss the guided tour—it’s super informative...

My advice is to check out the museum shop for unique souvenirs! They had some cool stuff that you won't find anywhere else and I saved a good amount by buying a small item instead of a bigger one
Davenport House Museum

I recommend getting the audio tour; it really enhances the experience and gives you so much more insight into the history of the house. Plus, it’s included in the ticket price, so you're saving a few bucks there.

If you're planning your visit, try to go around 10 AM. That’s when it opens, and you’ll avoid the crowds and have more time to explore without feeling rushed
