Boston Common

Wear comfortable shoes because the park is bigger than it looks, and you'll want to wander around without feeling sore later. Trust me on this one.

For a relaxed vibe, go early in the morning, like around 7 AM. You'll have the paths nearly to yourself, and the sunlight filtering through the trees is Insta-worthy.

Keep an eye out for free events or concerts. I stumbled upon a music performance during my visit that was totally unexpected and super enjoyable. Check out the local listings for what's happening.
The Charles River Esplanade of Boston

Check the event calendar before you go. Sometimes there are free outdoor concerts or activities happening, which can make your visit even more memorable.

If you can, visit in the late afternoon around 4 PM. The sunset views are stunning and it’s less crowded than earlier in the day.
Franklin Park

Check out the zoo while you’re there! It’s included in the admission price, and I was surprised to see some cool animals I hadn't expected. Just plan a little extra time for that.
Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park

My advice is to bring a picnic blanket if you plan to lounge. There’s plenty of grass and benches, but having your own spot makes it cozy and comfy for lunch.

I suggest looking for a parking app to find the best deals nearby—street parking can be a battle and you don’t want to waste time circling around.

I think walking along the waterfront path at sunset is the best part; the views are stunning, and it’s a perfect photo op. Don’t miss it around 6:30 pm!
Boston Harbor Islands State Park

I recommend grabbing a bike rental if you want to explore. The trails are super fun and I feel like I saw way more than just walking. Plus, you can cover more ground in less time.
