Culture in Santa Fe:
Meow Wolf
Bring your camera, but also be prepared to put it down and enjoy the moment. You'll want to capture everything, but some experiences are best lived rather than filmed!
I found out the hard way not to wear anything too fancy. You'll be climbing and crawling around a lot. Comfy shoes and clothes are a must!
Take your time exploring! I ended up feeling rushed because I tried to see it all in one go. I suggest planning for at least 2-3 hours to really enjoy it.
Santa Fe Square
Make sure to stroll around the square during sunset; the light on the adobe buildings is absolutely stunning. Grab your camera ready, I think you wouldn't want to miss that.
Save some cash by packing a picnic instead of eating out. There's a nice little park area where you can relax and enjoy your meal while soaking in the atmosphere.
I suggest checking the calendar of events before you visit; there might be a local festival or market happening, and those can be the highlight of the trip. You never know what unexpected things you might discover!
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
Chapel of Loretto
The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
Canyon Road Contemporary Art
My advice is to check out the local artists' work if you're looking for unique souvenirs. I found some beautiful pieces that weren't too expensive, and I loved supporting the local scene. Just make sure to ask about their prices before falling in love with something!
Mission San Miguel
My advice is to check out the small gift shop before leaving. They have some cool, unique items that aren't overpriced, and the staff is super friendly!
Santa Fe Farmers Market
Museum of International Folk Art
I recommend going on a weekday if you can. The crowds are way lighter, and you can really appreciate the exhibits without feeling rushed. Plus, you might get that sweet parking spot right by the entrance.
