Statue of Liberty

If you want a great view of the statue, try to snag a spot on the right side of the ferry. I thought I could just move around, but it got crowded real quick!

Don’t forget to check the weather! I didn’t and ended up getting soaked on my way back to Manhattan. A little planning goes a long way

My advice is to visit during the week if you can. I went on a Saturday and the crowds were insane. It felt more rushed than relaxing.

I suggest taking the audio tour when you're on Liberty Island. It added so much to the experience and I felt like I was really learning about the history there.
Times Square

Grab a coffee at one of the small cafes off the main square before jumping into the madness. It’s way cheaper than the spots right in Times Square.

I suggest checking out the TKTS booth for discounted Broadway tickets. It saved me a bunch compared to buying directly from the theaters.
If you can, try to visit around 8 AM. The crowds are way smaller, and you can snap some great photos without too many people in the background.

Be cautious of street performers. They can be engaging, but some might ask for money after taking a pic with you. Enjoy them, but set boundaries!
Rockefeller Center

I wish I had known to wear comfy shoes. There’s a lot of walking and standing, especially if you want to explore the surrounding Rockefeller Plaza and catch the seasonal decorations or events
I recommend visiting during the weekdays, especially early in the morning around 9 am to avoid the weekend crowds. It's way more chill and you can actually enjoy the views without jostling for space.

While the observation deck is a must-do, I suggest also taking a walk around the area. The shops, including the famous Radio City Music Hall, are great, but keep an eye out for street performers. They can be really entertaining.

My advice is to time your visit around sunset. There's nothing like seeing the city turn from vibrant lights to twinkling stars, but book your ticket in advance to get that prime time!
The Brooklyn Bridge

Grab a snack from a street vendor near the entrance; it's way cheaper than the touristy cafes. I learned the hard way!
If you're into art, take a detour to DUMBO after the bridge. The views are stunning and there are some cool murals to check out!

I recommend checking the weather before you go; a sunny day makes the views way better! I went on a cloudy day, and it kind of dampened the experience.

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. It's a longer stroll than it looks, and your feet will thank you by the end!
Chelsea Market

if you're a foodie like me, try to sample a little from different stalls instead of filling up on one big meal. i did this and it made the experience much more enjoyable!
Explore the side shops too! Some of the coolest finds weren’t just in the food stalls, but in the neighboring boutiques. I discovered some unique souvenirs that way!

Check out the seating areas before you grab your food; some spots are much cozier than others... I found a hidden area at the back that was way less crowded!

Try to go on a weekday, preferably around 1 PM. Weekends get crazy crowded, and I struggled to even find a place to stand!
St. Patrick's Cathedral
I found it super helpful to download an app about the history beforehand. That way I was ready to appreciate the details without having to join a guided group.
Definitely take a moment to sit and soak in the atmosphere. I thought a few minutes of quiet reflection were worth more than rushing around.

My advice is to bring a small donation with you. They appreciate it, and you’ll help keep this stunning place in great shape.

I think the gift shop has some unique souvenirs, but prices can be steep. I recommend setting a budget before you go in to avoid splurging.
Vessel

If you're planning to visit during the weekend, be ready for long lines. I recommend going on a weekday if you can, way quicker to get up and down!

I suggest getting there right when they open, around 10 AM. It was way less crowded and I got some awesome photos without people everywhere.

Think about taking advantage of the free timed tickets. Just check availability a few days in advance. I nearly missed out thinking I could just walk in!

Grab a snack at one of the nearby food spots before climbing to the top... There are some great places around; much better than overpriced eats inside the complex
United Nations Headquarters

Pack a snack and some water. The café was overpriced, and I regretted not bringing something from outside

If you’re into architecture, definitely spend time outside—there are amazing views and you can appreciate the building design before getting in.

If you're tight on budget, skip the souvenirs in the shop. They can be pricey! Consider taking photos outside instead.

Plan to arrive around 9:00 AM. It gets crowded later, and you'll get a better look at the Visitor Center before the rush hits.
Flatiron Building
Bring a good camera or your smartphone. The angles of the Flatiron are super cool for photos, and during golden hour, the lighting is just perfect!

If you want to save a few bucks, skip the overpriced souvenir shops near the building and head to the nearby local stores for unique gifts instead. Much better deals!

Head over to Madison Square Park right nearby. Grab a snack from one of the food stalls—great way to relax and enjoy the vibe before or after checking out the building.

Try to come around 8 AM to avoid the crowds. I went around noon and it was packed with tourists—way less enjoyable for photos and just taking it all in.
Trinity Church

Don't forget to explore the surrounding area! The graveyard and gardens are stunning, but I wish I had planned for at least 30 minutes to wander around more.

My advice is to grab a small donation brochure when you arrive - great way to learn more about the church’s history without paying for a guided tour.

I suggest checking out the church on a weekday morning around 10 AM. It's way less crowded, and you can really soak in the beauty without the hustle.

You might want to bring a snack and water. There's limited options nearby, and you'll want to spend time enjoying the peaceful atmosphere rather than looking for food.
