I highly recommend spending a few bucks on a poncho if you plan to go on the Maid of the Mist. I skipped it to save money, but ended up soaking wet and damp for hours. Not fun!

If you're driving, park at the state park instead of the attractions. It's way cheaper and you can walk through the gorgeous park to the falls. Just be ready for a bit of a hike.

Don’t skip the Cave of the Winds tour! Just be prepared to get wet, but it’s totally worth it! I wish I had worn my old shoes instead of my new ones!

I found the ponchos they give you surprisingly useful, but bring a backpack for extra clothes! I wish I’d thought of it, ‘cause I was soaked and cold afterwards

Be ready to hike up and down the stairs! The views are worth it, but my legs were killing me after. I think taking your time helps you enjoy the scenery better.

My advice is to visit on a weekday, specially Tuesday or Wednesday. The weekend crowds can be overwhelming, and you’ll get way better photos without a bunch of other people in them.

I suggest wearing waterproof shoes! Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later when you’re splashing around in the wet zone. I wore flip-flops and my feet were freezing!
