Biltmore Estate
Skip the main entrance and head to the Back Entrance at the Stable Courtyard for a different perspective of the estate. I stumbled upon this and it was less crowded and just as beautiful!
If you're planning to take a lot of pictures, consider the golden hour in the late afternoon. The lighting really makes the architecture pop and your photos will look amazing!
Asheville Pinball Museum
If you're planning to visit on a weekend, try to go right when they open at 11am. The earlier, the less crowded it is - which means more time to try out all the awesome machines without waiting
My advice is to be ready to spend time there, like a couple of hours at least! I thought I'd be in and out quickly, but I ended up losing track of time having a blast! Bring some snacks or drinks if you can.
The Minor Basilica of St. Lawrence the Deacon & Martyr
I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. The crowds are way smaller, and you can really soak in the beauty of the architecture without feeling rushed.
Grovewood Village
My advice is to check out the local crafts in the shops some are pricier but if you talk to the artists you might find some great deals or discounts. I saved a bit that way!
I suggest visiting on a weekday for fewer crowds, especially on Tuesday or Wednesday. It really made a difference for me in enjoying the art studios without feeling rushed.
River Arts District
If you're a fan of pottery definitely stop by the pottery studios. I was lucky to catch a live demo and it made the experience so much more fun! Check their schedule beforehand to avoid missing it
Thomas Wolfe Memorial
If you're planning to shop for souvenirs, skip the visitor center. I found better and cheaper options at local shops nearby, plus it supports small businesses
Grove Arcade
Check out the local shops and eateries on the lower levels; they often have unique finds that you won’t see elsewhere. I stumbled upon a cool artisan shop and grabbed some handmade jewelry at a great price!
