i recommend visiting in the late afternoon around 4 pm when the light is beautiful and the crowds are smaller... it makes for some really great photos!

My advice is to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the garden. It saves cash on food and lets you soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Just make sure to find a nice spot away from the flower beds.
