My advice is to bring a small cushion or kneeling pad if you want to sit and take in the artwork for a while. The marble floors can get uncomfortable, especially on your knees

My advice is to grab a gelato nearby after your visit. There are some great spots along Via della Conciliazione, and it makes for a nice break from all the sightseeing!

I suggest visiting early in the morning around 8 AM. The light is beautiful for photos and it’s way less crowded before the tours start. Plus, it gives you time to explore St. Peter's Square before it gets busy.
