Karwendel High Trail

If you’re concerned about your budget, look for local guesthouses in the nearby villages. They often offer better deals than hotels and provide a cozy, authentic experience.

I think the trail markers can be a bit confusing at times. Grab a detailed map at the visitor center so you’re not wandering around aimlessly like I did!

My advice is to pack a picnic. There are some beautiful spots to take a break, and it saves you money compared to the overpriced food at nearby huts
Schladminger Tauern High Trail

Make sure to wear good hiking boots. I learned the hard way when my shoes gave me blisters after the first few hours. A bit of comfort goes a long way!
Berlin High Trail

I suggest wearing good hiking shoes; some trails can be pretty rocky. I learned this the hard way when my sneakers slipped, and I nearly fell!

If you're planning to eat along the way, bring snacks from home. Food at the mountain huts can be pricey and not always the best. I regretted not packing my own lunch.

my advice is to bring a power bank. you’ll want to take tons of photos and your phone battery runs down fast in the remote areas.
Montafon Hut-to-Hut Circuit

Pack a lightweight rain jacket. The weather can change quickly in the mountains, and I got caught in an unexpected downpour. It’s better to be prepared!

If you're unsure about a trail, I recommend checking the local tourist info center in Schruns. They’ve got super helpful maps and can give tips on the best routes depending on your skill level.

Consider staying in the huts rather than hotels for a more authentic experience. I loved the cozy atmosphere and met some amazing fellow hikers. Plus, it saved me money on accommodation!
Schlegeisspeicher to the Olpererhütte and Friesenberghaus

My advice is to wear sturdy shoes. The trail can get slippery and rocky, especially if it rained before your visit. I almost slipped and fell because I didn't tke this seriously!

I suggest packing some snacks for the hike. The views at Olpererhütte are amazing, but the food isn't cheap. A little picnic saved us some cash, and we enjoyed it with a stunning backdrop!
Preinerwandsteig Via Ferrata

My advice is to bring a sturdy pair of gloves - they really help with grip on the cables and make the climb more comfortable. You don't want to end up with sore hands after a fun day!
Eagle Walk
Venediger High Trail

I recommend bringing cash for small huts along the trail; some only accept cash and you don't want to miss out on a cold drink after a long hike! I learned that the hard way.
