pack a lunch! there's a great spot just off the main trail at the top to enjoy a picnic with amazing mountain views. eating at the restaurants can get pretty pricey, and i found it much more enjoyable to bring my own food

Check the weather before you go – it can change quickly in the mountains. I was caught in a sudden snowfall and ended up cutting my day short. Dress in layers, just in case!

Definitely buy your tickets online in advance. It saves you from standing in a long queue at the station, especially during peak season. I did this and it made my day much smoother!

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. The paths around the Salzbergbahn can be a bit steep and you don’t want to be slipping all over the place like I did!
