Tijuca Forest
I suggest you start your hike early, around 7 AM. Trust me, the air is fresh, and you'll avoid the midday heat and the biggest crowds.
wear good shoes, but also think about your socks. i went with cotton ones and ended up with blisters. go for moisture-wicking to avoid that.
For stunning views, hike to the Vista Chinesa. It's a bit of a climb, but that view is totally worth it. I was wowed when I got there!
Caixa d'Aco Natural Pool
When I visited, it was super busy around 11 AM. I think arriving by 9:30 AM really helped me enjoy the tranquility of the natural pool without the crowds.
Ilha Grande
Bring cash! Many places on Ilha Grande don't accept cards, especially smaller restaurants and shops. I ran into trouble getting cash out of ATMs, so stock up before heading out.
Hike Trilha do Morro das Aranhas
Start your hike early around 7 am to beat the heat and the crowds. The sunrise views from the top are totally worth it, and you’ll have the trail mostly to yourself
Bring plenty of water and snacks! The trail can be more demanding than it looks, so trust me, you'll need the extra energy. I ran out of water too soon and wished I'd packed more.
Don't forget your camera! There are some stunning viewpoints along the way. I captured some pretty awesome shots, but I kinda wished I had a better zoom lens for those faraway views.
Pedra Do Telegrafo Trek
i think it's a great idea to bring a towel or something to sit on at the viewpoint. i regretted not having one because the rocks were pretty uncomfortable after the hike, and it’s nice to chill out there.
Pedra do Bau
Pico da Bandeira
Parque Nacional Peruacu
I recommend downloading offline maps before you go. Cell service can be spotty, and getting lost was frustrating. It saved me a lot of time later!
Trilha do Boi
Monte Roraima
I recommend starting your hike around 6 AM. The early morning light is stunning for photos, and you'll avoid the heat of the day. I started around 8 and regrettedit in the afternoon!
