Pack a light snack and some water! The prices at the little shops around there can be outrageous. I regret paying $5 for a bottle!

My advice is to visit during the week, ideally on a Tuesday or Wednesday, to avoid the crowds. I went on a Saturday, and it felt like I was in a sardine can!

I recommend going around 8 AM. The sunlight is perfect for photos, and you get to enjoy the statue before all the tourists swarm in. Trust me, those early pics are worth it.
