Museums in Brazil:
Museum of Tomorrow
If you can, visit on a weekday morning. It was way less crowded then, and I could enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.
If you have time, plan to spend at least 3 hours here. I thought I could do it in 2 but ended up rushing through some cool parts.
Art Museum
The Oscar Niemeyer Museum
I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can; weekends can get packed and you might find yourself waiting in line for tickets. I went on a Thursday, and it was much quieter.
Catavento Museum
Imperial Museum in Petropolis
Don't miss the museum's cafe! The coffee was surprisingly good and reasonably priced; perfect for a quick recharge during your visit.
Definitely grab a ticket online beforehand if you can! It saved me some time and I skipped the line. Plus, you can avoid any surprise price hikes at the entrance.
Pinacoteca Sao Paulo
My advice is to check out the temporary exhibits first because they tend to change and are often really great! I almost missed one that was awesome.
Rio Art Museum
Try to visit on a weekday, especially in the morning around 10 AM. It was way less crowded and I had the galleries all to myself, which made the experience so much better.
Don’t forget to spend some time in the outdoor area. It's a great spot to relax and you can take some stunning photos overlooking the city.
The Sao Paulo Museum of Image and Sound
Modern Art Museum
Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art
I recommend checking the museum's schedule for temporary exhibitions before you go. I found out they had a fantastic installation that was only there for a week.
Buy your tickets online! It saved me a headache when I saw long lines forming at the entrance. Plus, sometimes they have discounts.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! I thought I could get away with sandals, but I ended up regretting it after walking all that time
