Boyana Waterfalls

Check the weather before you head out. I went when it looked clear, but unexpected rains made the trail muddy and a bit treacherous. A little planning can save you a slip and slide adventure!

Don't rush the hike! I was so excited to see the waterfalls that I skipped taking my time to enjoy the beautiful views. Savor every moment and take lots of photos!

Bring water and some snacks! There's a lovely spot to chill and enjoy the view once you reach the falls, but I wish I'd had a sandwich to really savor the moment.
Seven Rila Lakes
Rila Mountain Trail

I suggest starting the hike around 8 AM to avoid the crowds and enjoy the fresh morning air. Plus, you'll have more chances for that killer sunrise photo!

If you're planning to stay overnight, look for accommodations in nearby towns instead of on the trail. You'll save some serious money, and it's fun to explore local spots!

I think downloading offline maps or a trail app can save you some hassle. The signage can be a bit tricky in some spots, and having GPS helps keep you on track.

My advice is to pack some snacks and water, because prices at the cafes can be a bit steep. I learned the hard way!
Malyoviza

I suggest packing some snacks and water for the hike, as there aren't many places to buy food on the trails. This helped me avoid unnecessary stops, and I could focus on enjoying the scenery.

My advice is to consider visiting outside the peak season, like late September or early October. The weather was still nice, but way fewer people were on the trails, making it feel more untouched and special.

I think it's a good idea to wear sturdy hiking shoes. I wore my comfy sneakers, which were fine initially, but my feet started to hurt on the rocky parts of the trail. Don’t make the same mistake!

if you're into photography, try to hike up early, around 7 am. the sunrise shots were incredible and the trails were much less crowded, making for a peaceful experience.
Vihren Peak

My advice is to pack more water than you think you’ll need. I ran out halfway up and it made the trek much harder. Plus, those little shops at the base can be pricey!
Bezbog

If you're planning on hiking back, start around 3 PM to catch the sunset on your way down. Trust me, the views are incredible and totally worth it!

I suggest you bring cash for the lift tickets, it's easier and sometimes they don't accept cards. I almost missed out on my trip up the mountain because I didn't have enough cash
