Parks in Bulgaria:
South Park
Bring your own snacks! I found that the food options in the park are limited and a bit pricey. Pack a picnic and enjoy it on one of the lovely benches instead.
Borisova Gradina
My advice is to wear comfy shoes! There are lots of paths to explore, and you'll want to walk around and take it all in. Flip-flops probably won't cut it.
Rila Park
Look for the little hidden spots off the main trails. Some of the best views and peaceful moments I had were away from the busy areas, so don't be afraid to explore a bit!
Bring a picnic! The park is perfect for a relaxing lunch outdoors. I saved quite a bit by packing snacks instead of buying food on-site, which can be pricey.
Pirin National Park
Get to the park first thing in the morning, around 8 AM, to snag parking and enjoy the trails before they get busy. It's peaceful and the fresh air just feels amazing!
Plan on spending at least a full day there. I rushed my trip thinking I could see everything in half a day but there’s just so much beauty to soak in!
Doctors Garden
Check out the local art installations scattered around the park. Some of them are really cool and make for great photos. Don't rush past them!
I suggest wearing comfortable shoes; the paths are nice but can be uneven. Trust me, you'll want to explore without worrying about your feet!
Sveta Gora
Don’t rush! Take your time walking around. I noticed that rushing from one spot to another made me miss some hidden gems, so enjoy each area.
I suggest packing a picnic and enjoying it in one of the quieter spots away from the main paths. It’s a nice way to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
Park Marno Pole
I recommend bringing snacks and water, as the café prices can be a bit steep. I ended up grabbing a sandwich that cost way more than it should have!
Check the weather before you go! I got caught in a sudden rain shower and trust me slipping around in the mud is not the best way to enjoy the park. Bring a light poncho just in case!
Park Vrana
Dancing Bears Park
Razlog Park
I suggest grabbing a snack from local vendors outside the park instead of the cafe inside... It can save you some money, and the local treats are way tasty!
