Heritage Park Historical Village

Bring a refillable water bottle. There are water stations throughout the park, and staying hydrated will help you enjoy your day more.

If you can, buy your tickets online in advance. It saves you time waiting in line and sometimes they have online discounts.

Check out the daily schedule for activities as soon as you arrive. Some of the demonstrations and shows only happen once, and you won’t want to miss them
Don’t miss the bakery! The fresh baked goods are a must-try and pretty affordable. Perfect for a snack while walking around.
Black Creek Pioneer Village

My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The village has a lot to explore, so you'll be walking a lot. My feet were killing me by the end, but it was worth it!

I recommend grabbing a map at the entrance. It helps you plan your route and hit all the interesting spots without wasting time wandering around
Burnaby Village Museum

My advice is to bring some cash! Not everywhere takes cards, and it’s nice to grab snacks or souvenirs without worrying about payment options.

I recommend checking out the live demonstrations. They’re super interesting and engaging, but the schedule can be a little tricky. Plan ahead to catch them!

If you want the best photo ops, I think right before closing time, around 4 PM, is ideal. The light is beautiful, and the place is mostly empty then!

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekends can get really busy and you're gonna want to take your time exploring the village without the crowd.
Huron Traditional Site Onhoua Cheteke
My advice is to chat with the staff; they're super friendly and full of fascinating stories. I learned so much more than what’s on the brochures just from asking a few questions.

I suggest arriving right when it opens around 10 AM to avoid the afternoon crowds. It really makes a difference in how you enjoy the demonstrations without feeling rushed.

Definitely try to catch the cultural performances. They usually happen at specific times, so check the schedule first. I almost missed one because I didn’t plan ahead!
