Pack lunch and snacks instead of relying on park services. Food inside the park is pricey, and having your own keeps you fueled on the go without breaking the bank.
start your hikes early, around 7 am. the trails are less crowded, and you can enjoy the sunrise over the mountains—totally breathtaking! i wish i’d gotten moving sooner.
Take time to explore the visitor center first. It has awesome maps, info on trails, and lot of tips from rangers. I skipped this and missed some cool hidden spots.
Dientes Circuit
Check the weather before you go! It can change fast. I got caught in a surprise rainstorm and had to cut my hike short. So, just be prepared with waterproof gear, even if it seems sunny
Bring cash for small purchases along the way; some places don’t accept cards. I learned the hard way when I ran out of pesos and missed out on hot chocolate in the middle of the circuit!
Robinson Crusoe Island Trail
Cochamo Valley Trek
Valle de la Luna Day Hike
El Morado Glacier Trek
The Ice Hike on Exploradores Glacier
The W Trek
I think it’s a good idea to book your campsites in advance, especially in peak season. I didn’t, and I ended up struggling to find spots, wasting time looking for alternatives. Save yourself the hassle!
My advice is to pack lightweight food for the trek. I brought some heavy stuff and regretted it halfway through. Granola bars and dried fruits are cheap and save space in your bag!
