Central Park Simon Bolivar
i think you should take a stroll on the weekends if you can. there's live music and craft markets pop up, which really adds to the vibe of the park and you get to experience local culture.

It can get a bit crowded in the afternoons, especially on Sundays. I suggest heading out of the park by 4 PM if you want to avoid the rush and have an easier time getting a taxi.

Make sure to check out the little lake inside the park. I thought it would be a tiny pond, but it's really peaceful and great for birdwatching if you're into that. It's a hidden gem!

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 7 AM, when it's super quiet and you can enjoy the fresh air and watch the locals jog and do their exercises. You'll get the whole park to yourself!
Savaneta Park

Make sure to visit early, around 8 AM, to enjoy the peaceful vibe before the crowds roll in and get great photo ops without people in the background.

Don't skip the food carts nearby! I tried some local street food that was honestly better than some restaurants and super inexpensive.

Wear comfortable shoes – the paths can be uneven, and you want to explore without worrying about sore feet later on.

Keep an eye out for free events on the park's social media; I stumbled upon an awesome live music session by chance.
Parque Tayrona

I suggest bringing snacks and water from Santa Marta. The prices inside the park are crazzy high, and you’ll want to have enough energy for all that trekking.

I think it’s worth taking the longer trail to Cabo San Juan; it’s stunning. Just make sure you’re prepared for the heat and bring plenty of water.
Desires Park

Check out the view from the lookout point around sunset. The colors are just breathtaking! I did this and it was totally worth the chill wait.

Do wear comfortable shoes. Some parts of the park have uneven paths and you don't want to be tripping around while enjoying the scenery.

I suggest bringing a picnic! The park has some really nice spots to chill and enjoy some food. You can save money by grabbing some snacks from local shops before going in.
I recommend visiting during the week to avoid the crowds. I went on a Saturday, and it felt a bit packed, which took away from the experience.
El Lago Park

If you're a fan of walking, I recomment taking the trail around the lake rather than just sticking to the main path. It's super fresh and you'll see some pretty cool spots along the way!

If you're going on a weekend, I suggest getting there by 9 AM to avoid the crowds. It's way more peaceful and you get to soak in the vibe before it gets busy.

Bring a light jacket, even if it's sunny. The weather can change quickly in Bogotá, and it can get chilly near the water.

don't miss the little playgrounds if you're visiting with kids. they had tons of fun, and i'd say it's a great distraction so that you can relax for a bit. just watch your kids as they run around!
Arvi Park

Don’t forget to download an offline map if you can. The reception in some trails can be spotty, and you don’t want to get lost.

I think the cable car ride is a must-do. But try to get there by 8 AM to avoid the long lines and enjoy the view in peace.
El Poblado Park

Don't forget to bring some snacks! There are no food vendors in the park, so my advice is to pack a little picnic to enjoy while taking in the views.

I recommend visiting El Poblado Park in the early morning, like around 8 AM. It’s way quieter then, and you can really enjoy the beauty without the crowds.

I suggest checking the weather before you go. It can rain out of nowhere, so keeping an eye on the forecast saves you from getting soaked!

I think it’s a great idea to wear comfy shoes. The paths can get a little uneven, and you’ll want to stroll around without any pain.
Tayrona National Park

My advice is to wear good hiking shoes. I wore flip-flops thinking it would be fine, but trust me, you’ll regret it on those rocky paths.

I recommend bringing lots of water and snacks – the hikes can be tougher than you think, and you might end up hungry at some point! When I visited, I ran out of water too soon.

Watch out for the monkeys! They’re super cheeky, and one almost stole my water bottle! Keep an eye on your stuff, or you’ll end up chasing them

You definitely want to hit the trails early, I suggest starting around 7 AM. The heat gets intense, and it’s way nicer before the crowds show up too.
Medellin River Parks
If you want to save some cash, bring your own water and snacks. The prices in the park can be a bit steep for drinks, especially when you’re thirsty after walking around.

Don’t forget your camera! The views along the river and the parks are stunning, and I regret not capturing more moments when I was there.

Make sure to take a bike ride along the river! I rented one at a kiosk for just a few bucks, and it was such a fun way to see more of the area.
El Virrey Park

I suggest taking camera or phone for photos—the sunsets here can be beautiful, and you'll want to capture the vibrant colors around 5 PM.

If you’re on a budget, grab some snacks from local bakeries nearby instead of eating at the park's cafés. It saves money and you can have a picnic!

I think it’s worth exploring the jogging paths if you’re into fitness. They’re well-maintained and a great way to enjoy the scenery while getting a workout.

I recommend visiting early in the morning around 7 AM for a quiet stroll. The park is peaceful then, and you can enjoy the fresh air before it gets crowded.
