Nature Trail in Keila Joa Park

Take your time on the trail – it's not just about the waterfalls but also the beautiful forest scenery. I rushed through at first but ended up going back to enjoy the views

Pack a light snack and some water. There are no cafes right by the trail, and a little picnic along the way was a lovely surprise for me.

Wear sturdy shoes! The terrain can be a bit slippery and uneven. I nearly took a tumble because I thought my sneakers would be enough – they weren't!
Jagala Waterfall

I suggest bringing a snack and enjoying it by the water. There are some lovely spots to sit and relax with beautiful views.
Bring a waterproof bag if you want to get close to the waterfall. I didn't, and my camera got a little wet!

If you're looking for some great photos try visiting around 5 PM when the sun sets. The light on the waterfall is stunning!

Try visiting on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. I went on a Saturday and it was packed!
Kadriorg Park

Bring a picnic or grab some snacks—there are lovely spots to relax, and it’ll save you money compared to cafe prices inside the park.

Check out the Kadriorg Palace first; the lines can get long in the afternoon. I recommend arriving around 9 AM to enjoy a peaceful morning tour without the crowds.

wear comfy shoes! the park is pretty large, and i ended up walking a lot more than i thought. you want to enjoy the beauty, not be stuck with sore feet.

Check the schedule for any outdoor events or concerts before you go. I stumbled upon a lovely performance and it added so much to my experience!
AHHAA
Don't forget to check out the planetarium shows! I thought they were just for kids, but I enjoyed them just as much. Try to book your tickets in advance to save time.

If you’re visiting the outdoor exhibits, wear comfy shoes. I walked around for hours and my feet were killing me by the end. Just bring a spare pair of sandals or something!

If you can, try to visit on a weekday, especially after 2 PM. It was much less crowded when I went, so I could enjoy the displays without all the hustle.

I think the gift shop has some cool stuff, but prices can be a bit steep. Check out local shops in Tartu for unique souvenirs that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Pirita Beach
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes if you’re planning to walk along the promenade. The walk is lovely, but my flip flops made it a bit tricky!

I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks. The beach bars can be pretty pricey! I packed a picnic and saved a bunch of money while enjoying the views

I think it’s best to check the tide schedule before you go. When the tide is in, the beach area shrinks a lot, which caught me off guard.
Lahemaa

Plan your hikes early—by 9 AM. The trails get busier, and you get a more peaceful experience and the chance to spot wildlife without too many people around.

Bring your own snacks and water. The cafes can be pricey. I packed a picnic and enjoyed it by the beautiful coastal views—definitely a better experience!

Invest in a good map of Lahemaa. Having it saved on your phone really helped me navigate through the park and find hidden gems like the lesser-known waterfalls.

If you're into photography, hit up the old manor houses at golden hour—around 7 PM in summer. The soft light makes the places look magical and it's less crowded then.
Tallinn Zoo

If you're planning to visit other attractions in Tallinn, look for combo tickets. They can save you a few euros and are definitely worth it!

Use the zoo map wisely! Some paths are a bit tricky to navigate, so having a map can save you time wandering around aimlessly.

Wear comfy shoes. The zoo is larger than it appears, and there's a lot of walking involved. I regretted my choice of footwear halfway through.

Check out the feeding times for the big cats and elephants. It's a real highlight and you'll definitely want to see those moments up close.
Stroomi Beach

If you're heading to Stroomi Beach, make sure to bring your own snacks and drinks! The beach can get crowded, and the nearby cafes can be pricey. I ended up paying way too much for a simple drink.

Look out for the beach volleyball courts! It’s a fun way to meet people and join in on some games. I ended up playing with locals and had a blast!

Check the weather beforehand; the wind can pick up and make it pretty chilly even if it's sunny. I brought a light jacket after reading some reviews, and it saved my day!
Kalarand

If you're planning to swim, try to get there by around 9 AM. The sun's out early, and it's less crowded then. I was able to grab a great spot to lay down my towel!

Check the weather before you go! It can change fast, and I was caught in the rain. Maybe bring a light jacket or umbrella, just in case.
Vaana Beach

My advice is to visit the beach in the late afternoon, around 4 PM. The sunset views are stunning, and there's less crowd – perfect for some peace and quiet

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks. There aren’t many shops nearby that are open, and the prices can be a bit much. Pack a picnic to enjoy by the beach!

I recommend checking the public transport schedule beforehand. Buses can be infrequent, especially on weekends. I waited longer than I expected, and I could've used that time on the beach instead!
