Senate Square

I suggest taking the time to just sit on the steps of the cathedral and soak it all in. It's a perfect spot people watch and admire the architecture without a rush.

Go around sunset, like around 8 PM in summer – the light on the buildings is just awsome and way less crowded too. Trust me, it makes for perfect pics!

Check out the architecture from the steps of the cathedral; it's a stunning view and a great spot for photos. Just watch out for the pigeons!

If you want fewer crowds, aim for a weekday morning visit around 9 AM. The vibe is much calmer, and you can really take in the beauty of the square.
Helsinki Cathedral
Temppeliaukio Church

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, hold off until you leave the church and check the shops in the surrounding area. They often have better prices and unique finds.

Try to visit early in the morning around 9 AM to avoid the crowds. It’s way more peaceful, and you can really soak in the architecture without too many distractions.

I suggest taking the metro to get there. It’s super easy and drops you off just a short walk away. You’ll save time on parking, plus it's quite economical.

Bring a smartphone or camera with good low-light capability. The lighting inside can be beautiful, but tricky, and you don't want to miss capturing those moments!
Assumption Cathedral
Take your time to admire the frescoes; they’re stunning! I regret not taking more photos inside – the lighting can be tricky, so maybe bring a small portable light source if you want to capture the details.

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM. There are fewer tourists and you can enjoy the beauty without being rushed or crowded.

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, skip the gift shop inside. They tend to be overpriced. I found great local crafts at a nearby market that were unique and cheaper!
Chapel of Silence

My advice is to keep a look out for the special events they host. I stumbled upon a small concert when I was there, and it added a unique touch to my visit that I wasn’t expecting!
