Be prepared for weather changes! I went there in June and ended up drenched because I didn’t check the forecast. Bring a light jacket just in case.
Helsinki Cathedral
Santa Claus Village
Try to visit during weekdays instead of weekends—it's less crowded and you'll enjoy the attractions more. I went on a Saturday and the lines were long everywhere!

I suggest booking a time for Santa meeting in advance. I forgot to do that and ended up waiting over an hour; it was worth it but could've been better organized!

Bring your own snacks if you have dietary restrictions. The food options are limited and can be pricey. I ended up spending a lot on just a quick bite!

Explore the free activities like walking through the village and taking photos with the statues. I thought I had to pay for everything, but wandering around was a highlight.
Temppeliaukio Church

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, hold off until you leave the church and check the shops in the surrounding area. They often have better prices and unique finds.

Try to visit early in the morning around 9 AM to avoid the crowds. It’s way more peaceful, and you can really soak in the architecture without too many distractions.

I suggest taking the metro to get there. It’s super easy and drops you off just a short walk away. You’ll save time on parking, plus it's quite economical.

Bring a smartphone or camera with good low-light capability. The lighting inside can be beautiful, but tricky, and you don't want to miss capturing those moments!
Athenaeum

I think checking the special exhibitions online before going is a good idea. Some of them are super popular and can be crowded, so time your visit accordingly.

My advice is to grab a coffee at the café before you head in. Their pastries are a nice treat and it gives you a chance to relax after touring.

If you're short on time, focus on the Finnish art section – I really enjoyed it but found myself wanting more time there!
Monument to Sibelius
Assumption Cathedral

I recommend visiting early in the morning, around 9 AM. There are fewer tourists and you can enjoy the beauty without being rushed or crowded.

If you're planning to buy souvenirs, skip the gift shop inside. They tend to be overpriced. I found great local crafts at a nearby market that were unique and cheaper!
Museum of Contemporary Art "Kiasma"
Check out their café if you need a break. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the snacks were for a museum café and the coffee was great!

I recommend wearing comfy shoes; there’s a lot of ground to cover and some pieces are spread out. My feet were killing me by the end!

My advice is to keep an eye on their schedule for temporary exhibits or events. I stumbled upon an artist talk that really deepened my understanding of the art I saw!

I suggest getting there right when they open at 10 AM to avoid crowds and really soak up the art in a quieter setting. It made a huge difference for me!
