Definitely wear good hiking shoes! The trails can be rocky and slippery, and I slipped a couple of times. Trust me, it makes your experience a lot more enjoyable if you're not worrying about your footing

I think starting your visit around 10 AM is best. You beat the big crowds and can enjoy the peacefulness before the heat sets in.

I suggest checking the weather before you go. I went on a cloudy day and missed some great sunshine for photos! It really can make a big difference.

Be sure to wear good walking shoes. Some paths can be a bit uneven. I wore sneakers and regretted it; hiking boots would have made my experience much better.
