Brandenburg Gate
I suggest visiting the Brandenburg Gate early in the morning, around 7 AM. You'll have the place nearly to yourself for some awesome pics without the crowds.
I think joining a free walking tour that includes the Gate is a fun way to learn more. Just tip the guide at the end; it’s a win-win!
My advice is to check out the nearby park, Tiergarten, for a nice stroll before or after your visit. It's super relaxing and only a short walk away.
Cologne Cathedral
Try to catch one of the choral services if you can; it was such a beautiful experience and absolutely free! A perfect way to enjoy the acoustics of the cathedral.
If you're on a budget, skip the audio guide. I found plenty of info online and through the pamphlet they give. My advice is to save those euros for a nice bratwurst instead!
Bring a good camera or your phone charged. The intricate details on the outside and inside are just stunning. You won’t want to miss capturing those, trust me.
Check out the rooftop view! I missed it, but everyone raves about it. I think it's worth the extra few euros and the climb.
Frauenkirhe
Be sure to take the elevator up to the dome! The view of Dresden from up there is breathtaking. Just make sure to check the operating hours though, as they can change.
Plan to stay for the organ concert if you can. It’s a unique experience and you can often buy tickets on the spot. I wish I’d known this before my visit!
I found an awesome little café just around the corner for lunch, Café Aha. It’s way cheaper than the touristy spots and the sandwiches are delish! My advice is to grab a bite there afterward.
I recommend getting the audio guide, it's only a few euros and really enhances the experience. I learned so much more than just looking around would have taught me
Old Tunnel under the Elbe
Charlottenburg Castle
Palace of San Susi
My advice is to do some research on the history beforehand. It really enhanced my experience to know a bit about Frederick the Great and the palace’s significance.
Kehlsteinhaus
St. Michael's Church
Odeonsplac
I suggest grabbing a coffee at one of the nearby cafes around 10 AM... It’s a great way to relax and you’ll have the place mostly to yourself before the crowds roll in
