Marienplatz
Neuschwanstein Castle

Try and visit during the shoulder seasons like late spring or early autumn. The weather is still great and the castle is so much less crowded than in the summer months!

If you're planning to take pictures, the best views are from the Marienbrücke bridge. Go there early in the morning before the crowds arrive for that perfect shot!

Bring some snacks and water with you. The food options are pretty limited and expensive inside the castle itself, so I suggest a little picnic.

My advice is to check the castle's website for any closures or schedule changes before you go. I ended up missing out on seeing certain areas because of maintenance.
Heidelberg Castle
Hohenzollern Castle

Consider bringing a picnic to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are some lovely spots to sit, and food at the café can be pricey.

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can; the crowds on weekends can be overwhelming, and you’ll have a much more peaceful experience exploring the castle.

My advice is to buy your tickets online in advance. It saved me a lot of time skipping the ticket queue, which can get pretty long
Nymphenburg Palace

If you can, try to visit on a weekday. The crowds on the weekends can be a bit overwhelming, and you might miss the charming details in the palace.

I think you should aim to get to Nymphenburg Palace around 9 am when it opens. The early birds truly get to enjoy the garden with fewer people around, and it's so peaceful!

I recomment bringing your own water and snacks... The food inside is pretty pricey and not that great, so you can enjoy a picnic in the stunning gardens instead

My advice is to buy a combination ticket for the palace and the smaller museums. You save a bit and get to see more of the beautiful art pieces without having to pay extra later.
Moritzburg Castle
Eltz Castle
Cochem Castle

A little secret: there's a charming café inside the castle. I recommend stopping there for a slice of cake and a coffee. It's a nice break and the prices aren't too bad.

If possible, visit on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty packed, which made it hard to enjoy everything fully.

I suggest bringing a camera! The views from the castle are absolutely stunning, especially if you hike up from the town. Just don't forget your battery charger!

Be prepared for some steep climbs! Wear comfortable shoes; I struggled in sandals. It’s totally worth it, but your feet will thank you later!
Vollrads Castle Winery

Definitely wear comfortable shoes! The cobblestones can be a bit tricky, and you’ll want to explore the grounds without worrying about your feet.
