El Picacho United Nations Park

My advice is to wear good hiking shoes. The trails can get a bit rocky and slippery, especially after rain. I learned that the hard way!

Bring some snacks and water; there are a few spots to relax, but they don’t have many food options. I spent more than I planned on snacks at the little kiosk!

I suggest heading to the park early, around 7 AM, to beat the heat and enjoy a quieter atmosphere. The sunrise views are totally worth it!
Tegucigalpa Central Park

I think the best time to visit is early morning, around 8 AM, when the weather is cooler and it's less crowded. You'll have more space to enjoy the park and take photos without a ton of people in the background.

My advice is to bring a water bottle and some snacks. There are food stalls, but they can be a bit pricey and sometimes the lines are long. You can save money and enjoy a picnic vibe!

I suggest checking out the local vendors for souvenirs, but don’t be afraid to haggle a bit. I found some cool handmade crafts for way less just by asking for a better price.
Watch for pickpockets, especially near the busier areas... I didn't have any issues, but a friend nearly lost his wallet... Keep your stuff close, and you'll have a great time!
Jeannette Kawas National Park

I recommend hiring a local guide. We found one who was super knowledgeable and affordable. It made the experience way more enriching than just wandering around on our own

I suggest bringing some snacks and a reusable water bottle. Food options inside the park are limited and a bit pricey. It helped save money and stay energized while exploring!
Gumbalimba Park
I suggest getting there right when it opens at 9 AM. It was way less crowded, and I could really enjoy the animals and trails without the rush. Trust me, it makes a huge difference!
Eco Park Juana Lainez

my advice is to wear comfy shoes! there are a lot of trails and walks, and you’ll want to explore everything without those aching feet. i regretted wearing my new sandals!

I suggest bringing some snacks or a picnic lunch – the food options inside the park are pretty limited and can be a bit pricey. We brought sandwiches and it made our day much more enjoyable!
Pico Bonito National Park

Bring cash! Some of the smaller local shops and guides only take cash, so don't miss out on a great souvenir or a fantastic guide. I had to run back to the town to find an ATM!

I recommend setting out for your trek early, around 7 AM. The trails get super busy later, and starting early gives you a chance to see the wildlife before it gets too hot
La Tigra National Park

I suggest packing some snacks and water before you head out. The food options in the park are pretty limited and a bit pricey. Having your own food saved me both time and money!
Cusuco National Park

I recommend bringing your own snacks and water. The park’s facilities are pretty limited, and you don’t wanna waste time searching for food. Plus, it can save you some cash too. Trust me, hiking on an empty stomach isn’t fun.
