Reykjadalur Hot Spring Hike

Look for the less crowded pools. I found a quieter spot away from the main area that was just perfect for relaxing without the hustle.

Wear good waterproof shoes. I thought my sneakers would be fine, but the muddy spots caught me off guard. Trust me, your feet will thank you!

Bring a reusable water bottle and snacks; the hike is about 3-4 hours round-trip. I ran out of energy halfway and had to rush the last part to make it back.
Studlagil Canyon Main Access
Dettifoss Waterfall
Solheimajokull Glacier Hike

bring your own lunch and snacks to save some cash. the nearby cafe can be pricey, and you don’t want to ruin your vibe when you can enjoy a picnic at a scenic spot
I suggest wearing layers! The weather changes super fast on the glacier. I froze a bit because I didn't pack an extra sweater. Bring gloves too - trust me!
Glymur Waterfall

If you're heading there, try to arrive by 9 AM. We found fewer crowds and got some amazing photos without a bunch of people in the background. Plus, it’s easier to find parking then!

I suggest wearing good hiking boots! The trails can get slippery, especially near the waterfall, and you definitely don't want to take a tumble. Trust me, it happened to a couple near us, and it wasn't pretty!
Kerlingarfjoll

I suggest bringing a sturdy pair of hiking boots. The trails can get muddy and slippery, and you want to stay comfy while soaking in those stunning views!

I think a late afternoon visit (around 4 PM) gives you the best light for photos. The colors of the volcano really pop at that time, plus there are fewer tourists around.
Hengill

For saving some cash, buy snacks and drinks at a store in Reykjavik before heading out. Prices near Hengill, especially for food, are a bit steep!

I suggest packing a good lunch and plenty of water. There aren’t many spots to buy food nearby, and it’s nice to sit and enjoy your meal while taking in those stunning views.
Fagradalsfjall Volcano
Snaefellsjokull Glacier

My advice is to check the weather report in advance. It can change quickly, and I got caught in a sudden downpour, which was cool but not the best for photos!
