If you're planning to go up the tower, buy your ticket online in advance. I almost spent too much time waiting in line, and the view is defintely worth it!

Check out the gift shop before you leave! They have unique Icelandic souvenirs, and I found some really cool stuff that wasn't overpriced at all.

I recommend getting the audio guide. It gave me so much extra info about the history without feeling overwhelming. Plus, it felt like I was walking through the past with a knowledgeable friend.
