Glacier Lagoon

Don't forget your camera! The crystal blue ice and floating glaciers are postcard-perfect. You’ll regret not capturing those moments!

I recommend visiting around 8 AM or just before sunset for the best light – the colors are unbeatable and you’ll avoid the crowds!
Blue Lagoon
Kerid Crater
Black Sand Beach Reynisfjara

Check the weather forecast before you go. I went on a cloudy day, and it wasn't as picturesque as I'd hoped. If it's sunny, the scenery is way more stunning!

Watch out for sneaker waves! I thought I could just get a quick shot near the shoreline, but I got soaked. Stay at a safe distance from the water, trust me!

Plan to visit around sunset, around 7-9 PM depending on the time of year. The golden hour makes the basalt columns and waves look magical in photos.
Secret Lagoon Hot Spring

Consider getting the combo pass if you plan on visiting the nearby attractions. It saves you some bucks instead of paying separately.

Pack your own towel if you can; it’ll save you some cash because they charge for rentals.

I recommend going in the late afternoon, around 5 PM. The lighting is gorgeous and it’s usually less crowded, giving you more space to relax.

Keep an eye on the weather. It can be unpredictable, and dress in layers to stay comfy before and after your soak.
Myvatn Nature Baths
Plan on spending a bit of time drifting between the hot pools and colder areas. I think this makes for a better experience instead of just lounging in the heat.

Make sure to bring your own towel and flip-flops! Renting them there can cost you a pretty penny, and nothing is worse than cold feet on a hot day

If you're looking for food, the cafe has some nice options, but I recommend bringing your own snacks. The prices can be a bit steep and a packed lunch felt like a treat!

Check the weather before you go! The area can be super windy and chilly, so having a windbreaker to throw on after your dip will save your day. I learned that the hard way!
Hverir Geyser
Reykjadalur Hot Spring Hike

Check the weather forecast before you go; it can change quickly. I had an unexpected downpour, which made some parts of the hike slippery and less enjoyable

Look for the less crowded pools. I found a quieter spot away from the main area that was just perfect for relaxing without the hustle.

Wear good waterproof shoes. I thought my sneakers would be fine, but the muddy spots caught me off guard. Trust me, your feet will thank you!

Bring a reusable water bottle and snacks; the hike is about 3-4 hours round-trip. I ran out of energy halfway and had to rush the last part to make it back.
Diamond Beach

Don't rush your visit! Take your time exploring the beach and the surrounding area. I spent about 2 hours, but could have easily stayed longer just soaking it all in.

Bring snacks and water with you! There are no facilities nearby, so I wished I had packed a picnic to enjoy while taking in the views.

Wear sturdy footwear! The black sand can be uneven and the ice can be slippery. I slipped on the ice and learned my lesson the hard way.
Oxararfoss Waterfall

I recommend bringing snacks and drinks. There aren’t many food options nearby, and it’s nice to relax with a picnic by the falls

Check the weather before you go! It changed on me, and I got soaked. A waterproof jacket made a huge difference.

If you're into photography, the golden hour around sunrise or sunset offers incredible lighting. I wish I'd gotten there earlier for some great shots!

Be mindful of the pathways—they can be slippery, so wear good footwear. I saw some people struggling in flip-flops!
