If you're not keen on heat, I suggest visiting in the early morning around 7 AM. It’s less crowded and much cooler, making for a lovely stroll.

I think it’s a good idea to wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be on your feet a lot and the floors can get a bit slippery with all the foot traffic.

I recommend bringing some cash for offerings. They don’t take cards for the little things like flowers or sweets, and you'll want to show your devotion with something!
