Sipiso-Piso Waterfall

Try to visit during the week instead of weekends if you can. The crowd was much thinner on the weekdays, making it way more peaceful to enjoy the view without all the tourists.
Check the weather before you go. I had planned my visit for a sunny day, but it ended up being cloudy and only got glimpses of the waterfall's full glory. Sunny days make a big difference!

Make sure to wear good hiking shoes! The trek down to the waterfall can be slippery and steep so don’t underestimate it. I almost slipped a few times because I wore sandals.

I suggest you bring some snacks and plenty of water with you. There aren’t many vendors around, and it’s a lot more enjoyable to relax by the waterfall with a snack in hand
Merbabu
Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

My advice is to wear good trekking shoes! I made the mistake of wearing flip flops and regretted it instantly. The trek can be muddy and slippery!
I suggest visiting Tumpak Sewu around 7 AM. The morning light is perfect for photos and it’s way less crowded so you get to enjoy the view in peace.

I recomment bringing some snacks and water... The trek is pretty demanding, and there aren’t any vendors right by the waterfall... Plus, it saves you some cash!

don’t forget to bring a rain jacket or poncho. it can get misty from the waterfall spray, and i got soaked during my visit! a bit of prep can keep you dry.

Semeru

I recommend packing snacks but skip the store-bought trail mix. I got some fresh local fruits and nuts, way tastier and cheaper! Plus, it’s a nice boost of energy.
Padar Island
Bring plenty of water and snacks, especially if you're planning to hike the trails. I thought I could get by with just a bottle, but I ended up feeling pretty drained!

Don't forget your camera. The views from the top are insane and you'll want to capture those moments. I missed some good shots because my phone was about to die, so charge it well.

I suggest wearing good hiking shoes; trust me, the trek can be a bit rocky in parts. I wore flip-flops and regretted it big time halfway up!
Rinjani

Pack snacks! There are limited options on the trail, and I wish I had brought more. I ended up with just a granola bar, which didn't do me much good on the long hike. So bring more food and water!

I suggest heading up for the summit around 2 a.m. That way, you can catch the sunrise at the top. It’s totally worth the early wake-up call!

My advice is to hire a local guide instead of going with a big tour company. They know the best routes and will give you a more personal experience, plus it's often cheaper!
Gunung Andong

Wear comfortable hiking shoes! The trail can get rocky in places, and I learned the hard way when my flip-flops were not up to the challenge.
