Phoenix Park

If you can, go on a weekday morning around 9 am! It's much quieter then, and you can really enjoy the peaceful vibe without the crowds.

Look for the smaller paths; they can lead to some hidden gems. I stumbled upon a lovely little pond that wasn't even on the map!

I suggest renting a bike if you want to see more of the park quickly. I didn't do this and ended up walking a lot more than I planned. My feet were killing me by the end!

Keep an eye out for the wild deer! I was surprised how close they came to the paths, so definitely have your camera ready. It’s such a cool sight!
Tramore Beach

check out the local fish and chips shop for a great meal after a day at the beach; it's tasty and won't break the bank. i recommend the cod!

Don’t miss the promenade walk before sunset. The views are stunning, and it’s a peaceful way to end your beach day without spending a dime.
Torc Waterfall

Wear good walking shoes! The paths can be a bit slippery, especially if it's been raining. I learned that the hard way and slipped a few times. Make it more enjoyable by being comfortable!

Don’t skip the nearby trails. I think they’re just as stunning as the waterfall and much less crowded. Just be ready for a bit of a hike to really catch those amazing views

I recommend bringing some cash to pay for parking. There are some nice spots nearby, but they only take cash. Didn’t expect that and had to drive around looking for an ATM!
Dublin Zoo

My advice is to download the zoo map in advance. I found it on their website, and it made it way easier to navigate and not miss the best spots!
National Botanic Gardens

If you can, try to visit on a weekday. It was really quiet when I went on a Tuesday, and I could enjoy the gardens without the weekend crowds.

Definitely take your time to explore the lesser-known areas. I stumbled upon some hidden gems that weren't crowded at all – make sure you have your camera ready!
Killarney National Park

When you're at the Muckross House, grab a coffee at the café. It's a bit pricy, but the view is so worth it! Sitting there with a cup while enjoying the scenery is just bliss.

It can get pretty rainy in Killarney, so don’t forget to pack a rain jacket! I learned this the hard way when it started pouring and I had no cover. Trust me, it makes a huge difference.

I learned the hard way that parking fills up quickly near popular spots. My advice is to use public transport or park at less crowded areas and walk a bit. You'll save time and hassle!
Fota Wildlife Park
Wear comfy shoes and be prepared for some walking. The park is bigger than it looks, so you’ll want to be ready to explore every corner without fatigue.

Check out the feeding times for the animals. We stumbled upon a giraffe feeding session, which was amazing to watch and totally worth the wait!

Arrive right when the park opens at 10 AM. It’s way less crowded then, and you can enjoy the animals without the rush and hustle of bigger crowds later in the day.

Bring your own snacks and drinks! They allow you to picnic in certain areas, which can save you a good bit of cash on food inside.
Powerscourt Estate

Definitely arrive early, like around 9:30 am. The gardens get crowded pretty quick, and you want to snap some photos without the crowds ruining the views!

I think the waterfall trail is a must-see, just don’t miss it like I did! It’s a bit hidden away, but totally worth it once you find it, trust me!

I recommend buying your tickets online. It saved me some time standing in line, and you might catch some cool discounts for kids or groups!

Pack a picnic! The gardens are super spacious, and there are nice spots to relax. Food options in the cafe can be pricey, so it’s a good way to save a few bucks.
Croagh Patrick
Aillwee Cave

I think you should bring a light jacket, even in the summer. The cave is much cooler inside than outside, and I was freezing partway through the tour.

If you can, try to visit around 10 AM. The best part is having fewer crowds and getting to take your time looking at everything without being rushed

I recommend taking the scenic route up to the cave. The views along the way are breathtaking and you're gonna want a few photos – trust me!

Definitely wear comfortable shoes! The cave floor is sometimes slippery and rough. I thought I'd be fine in my sneakers, but I wished I had worn my hiking boots.
