Lake Garda

If you're into wine, visit a vineyard for a tasting. It's often cheaper than drinking at bars and you learn about the local wine culture. I found some hidden gems by just asking locals.
Lake Como
Lago di Tenno

I recommend going to Lago di Tenno during the week instead of the weekend. It can get super crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, making it tough to find a good spot to chill.

My advice is to bring a picnic! There are lovely spots around the lake to sit and eat, and it definitely saves you money compared to local cafes.

I think you should swim early in the morning, like around 8 AM. The water is super refreshing, and you'll have the place mostly to yourself before the crowds show up.
Lago di Carezza

Try to visit during the week instead of on the weekends. Way fewer people, and you can enjoy the tranquility of the lake much more.

Don’t forget your camera, but I also recommed just soaking it all in without constantly snapping pics. Some moments are better experienced in person!

Bring some snacks and a picnic blanket! There aren’t a ton of food options nearby, and eating by the lake is the perfect way to enjoy the scenery.

Wear good shoes! The paths around Lago di Carezza can get muddy and slippery, especially if it’s been raining. I learned that the hard way!
Spiaggia Desenzanino
Lake Trasimeno

If you're planning to explore Isola Maggiore, take the ferry from Passignano around 10 AM. This way, you avoid long queues and can enjoy the beautiful views without the crowd. I did this and it made my day much more relaxing.

For lunch, skip the tourist traps and head to the local deli in Tuoro. They have amazing paninis at half the price of the restaurants by the lake. I wish I had discovered this place earlier during my visit!

If you can, stay until sunset. The view from the lakeside promenade is breathtaking, and you won’t want to miss it. I had to rush to catch it, and I regretted not sticking around longer!
Lago di Fedaia
Monte Isola

try to visit during the weekday instead of the weekend. it can get super crowded on saturdays and sundays, making it hard to enjoy the stunning views and the peaceful vibe. i went on a tuesday and loved how quiet it was!

If you’re planning on renting a bike, book in advance. I didn’t, and ended up waiting for over an hour to find one. It's way more fun to explore the island on two wheels, trust me!

Don’t skip the small towns on the perimeter of the island. I thought I’d just stick to the main areas, but wandering around the lesser-known spots led me to some amazing views and local crafts I’d have missed otherwise.
Lac Bleu

If you love nature photography, don't forget your zoom lens. I was wishing I had mine since the views from the opposite side of the lake are amazing, but I couldn’t get close enough!

I suggest bringing a picnic. There are some great spots by the water. Trust me, it's way more enjoyable than pricey snacks from the kiosks.

Get there early, like around 8 AM. The light on the lake is just beautiful, and you’ll beat the crowds. It gets super busy, especially on weekends!
