My advice is to check the weather before heading up. The temperature can drop unexpectedly, so layering up is a must! I ended up a bit cold and regretted not bringing a jacket.
If you're planning to hike, bring snacks and plenty of water. Some trails can be surprisingly long, and I found myself running low on energy and options!
I think visiting during the shoulder seasons, like late April or early October, is best. The views are breathtaking, and the crowds are way smaller compared to summer.
I suggest getting the cable car tickets online in advance. It saves you a bunch of time and avoids the long queues, especially on weekends. I learned this the hard way!
Dolomites
Dolomiten Alpin
If you can, avoid the weekends when the crowds are crazy. I went during a Saturday and it took forever to find parking. Try a weekday instead!
I suggest checking out the local bakeries for breakfast before hitting the trails. The pastries are super fresh and wayyy better than any hotel breakfast!
I recommend buying a combined ticket for the lifts if you plan to do multiple hikes. It'll save you some cash instead of paying for individual fares!
Earth Pyramids of Platten
Don't forget your camera! The landscapes are breathtaking, and you'll want to capture every moment. I missed some shots because my phone was dead.
