I recommend going early in the morning, around 8 AM, to beat the crowds and enjoy the stunning views peacefully. It's so much more enjoyable without all the hustle and bustle!
Grand Husseini Mosque

If you're into photography, try visiting at dusk. The lighting is magical and I think you'll get some beautiful shots of the architecture.

Don’t pay for a guided tour unless you want tips on the history. The signs around the mosque give you enough info for free, trust me on that!

I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 8 AM. The morning sun hitting the mosque is stunning and it’s way less crowded.

Make sure to dress modestly – this place is a mosque, so long sleeves and covered knees are a must. I forgot my scarf and had to buy one nearby.
Roman Theater
Al-Hussein Public Parks
Ad-dair

Bring some snacks and water with you. There aren't many places to grab food around the excavation site, and trust me, you'll get hungry exploring!

I suggest visiting Ad-dair around 10 AM. The light is perfect for photos and you can avoid the harsh midday sun, plus it'll be less crowded.

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. The ground can be uneven, and you'll do a lot of walking. I regretted my fashion choice after a few hours!

If you can, try to find a local guide. They have all the juiciest stories about the excavations and it makes the experience way more enjoyable, but be ready to negotiate prices!
