my advice is to wear boots or closed-toe shoes if you can. i wore sneakers and ended up with sore feet. those stirrups can be a bit rough on the soles!

I think it's best to go for the morning rides, around 9 AM. The weather is cooler and the trails are less crowded. Plus, it made for cooler photo ops with the horses!
