My advice is to wear old clothes! Paint can get messy and I didn’t think I’d be leaving with paint splats everywhere. Trust me it’s better to not worry about ruining your favorite shirt.

If you're heading there on a holiday, try arriving by 11 AM. We noticed the crowds really piled up after noon. It’s way more fun when it’s not too packed!

I think packing some snacks and water is a good idea. The onsite snack options were okay, but having my own munchies made the wait times way more enjoyable!

Don't skip the local food stalls by the lake! I thought I'd save time eating at restaurants but found some hidden gems offering fresh fish and local dishes at half the price. I recommend trying the tilapia!

The entrance fee is super affordable, but if you're on a budget, I suggest bringing a picnic instead of dining at the cafe. It can save you some cash.

I recommend visiting on a weekday; it’s way less crowded and you can enjoy the peace of nature. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty packed.

Richard December 5, 2024

Wear comfortable hiking shoes. I wore my usual trainers and regretted it halfway through. The terrain can get a bit rough!

Joshua October 18, 2024

If you love birdwatching, definitely bring binoculars! I spotted so many beautiful species; watching them was the highlight of my visit.

Consider visiting during the weekday instead of the weekend. It was way less crowded when I went on a Tuesday, and I had a more relaxing experience.

Robert December 6, 2024

Wear comfortable shoes; the paths can get a bit rocky and uneven. I wish I'd brought better footwear because I ended up with sore feet by the end of the day!

user avatar
Matthew November 25, 2024

Don't rush through; take your time to walk the trails and observe. I almost missed a cool family of monkeys because I was hurrying to the next exhibit.

Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early to get through registration and safety briefings. You don't want to miss out on your slot because the process takes longer than expected!

user avatar
Steven December 6, 2024

If you want to save a few bucks, check for combo deals online before you go. We found a package that included go-karting and a few fun activities, which made it more affordable.

Brandon October 12, 2024

I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. The weekend crowds can be hectic, and you’ll have a much smoother experience during the week. Plus, you’ll likely get better track times.

Consider bringing a portable chair or blanket for seating... Some areas can be crowded, and having your own space makes the experience way more enjoyable!

user avatar
Betty April 8, 2025

I recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. They allow you to refill it at the venue, which saves cash and keeps you hydrated without buying overpriced drinks.

user avatar
James March 19, 2025

Get familiar with the layout of the ground. Some entrances are less crowded than others depending on where your ticket is, and knowing this can save you a lot of time.

user avatar
Anthony March 15, 2025

If you're planning to drive, arrive by 4 PM to avoid the Nairobi traffic — it gets hectic, especially on match days. Trust me, it’s worth it to get there early.

I recommend wearing good hiking shoes. The trails can be a bit uneven and slippery. I learned the hard way when my sneakers made me slip a couple of times!

user avatar
Nathan February 25, 2025

I suggest getting there by 7 AM to beat the crowds and enjoy some peace while taking in the views. The morning mist is also super picturesque!

user avatar
Ryan February 24, 2025

Bring a packed lunch if you can. The food options are pretty limited and not the best value for money. A nice picnic on the hill is a much better deal!

user avatar
James January 11, 2025

Don’t forget a light jacket! The weather can change quickly up there, and it got a bit chilly for me in the afternoon. You'll want to be comfy.
