Think about bringing a refillable water bottle. The heat can sneak up on you during hikes, and it's way cheaper than buying bottled water inside. I had to pay way too much for a small bottle.

I suggest downloading a map or trail app before heading out; cell service can be spotty and getting lost is no fun. Trust me, I learned that the hard way!
Gauja National Park

I recommend checking out the trails early in the morning, like around 7 AM. It's way less crowded, and you can soak in the beauty without the hustle.

Don’t forget to bring snacks and water. I thought I could grab something at the visitor center, but it was closed when I got there. A packed lunch is a must!

I suggest wearing good hiking shoes. The paths can get a bit tricky and muddy, especially after rain. I slipped a couple of times and it wasn’t fun!

Check out the waterfall at Sietiņiezis. It's super picturesque, but go at sunset for the best light. I wish I’d known that for better photos
Kemeri National Park

Check out the birdwatching towers. The views are amazing, but the paths to them can get muddy. I recommend wearing good boots to avoid slipping.

Bring your own water and snacks! The little kiosks charge a lot for drinks, and you’ll want energy for all the hiking. I learned that the hard way.

Download offline maps before you arrive. I lost signal on parts of the route and having maps saved made all the difference in finding my way without getting lost
