if you can, bring a portable charger. the exhibits are so cool, you’ll find yourself taking tons of photos, and you don’t want your phone to die halfway through.

My advice is to set aside at least two hours to really soak in everything. I rushed through a bit, and I wish I'd taken my time with some of the displays.

Grab a coffee at the museum café, it’s surprisingly good! Plus, it offers a nice spot to sit and look over your photos for a bit.

Don’t forget to explore the outdoor exhibition area too; the vintage cars and motorcycles are amazing, and it's easy to miss if you're focused on the indoor exhibits
House of the Blackheads

My advice is to check out their special events. They sometimes have unique exhibitions or performances that aren’t well advertised. I stumbled upon one and it totally made my visit memorable!
Make sure to stop by the souvenir shop before leaving. I was in a hurry and missed some really cool trinkets; now I regret not picking up a few unique pieces!

If you're looking for a great photo op, head to the front of the building just after sunrise. The light is amazing and it’s way less busy. I got some gorgeous shots that way.
Rundale Palace
St. Peter's Church
Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum

My advice is to visit on weekdays if you can, as it gets super crowded on weekends. I went on a Saturday and had trouble enjoying the exhibits without bumping into people.

I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks, as the onsite cafe doesn't have much variety and can be overpriced. I ended up eating a sad sandwich that cost way too much!
If you want a great photo spot head towards the old windmill by the lake at sunset. The view is stunning and it doesn't get too many visitors at that time. I got some of my best shots there!
Three brothers

If you can, visit around 10 AM on a weekday. I went at noon and it got pretty crowded. Early mornings are your best shot for a more personal experience.

If you're into history, I think just soaking in the architecture is the best part. The houses are steeped in stories, so take your time exploring them. Don't rush through; it’s not huge, but it's packed with charm!

I suggest checking out nearby cafes after your visit. I found a great little spot where I had the best coffee and pastries just a short walk away. Perfect way to relax after all that sightseeing!
