Gauja National Park
My advice is to download offline maps before your trip. Cell service can be spotty, but I got lost a few times. It was adventurous, but not ideal for time-saving!
If you're into history, don’t skip the Turaida Castle. The entrance fee is reasonable and the views are stunning. I thought I'd skip it, but it turned out to be a highlight!
Verman Garden
Riga Zoo
I think you should check out the seals and penguins first. They seem to be the crowd favorites and give the best shows. You won’t wanna miss them!
Don’t forget to bring some snacks or a packed lunch! The food inside is pricy and not much variety. A picnic on one of the benches is a nice break!
Here’s a tip: wear comfy shoes! You’ll be walking a lot and the terrain can be uneven in some parts. Trust me you don’t wanna end up with sore feet.
Jurmala Beach
Kemeri National Park
Bring your own water and snacks! The little kiosks charge a lot for drinks, and you’ll want energy for all the hiking. I learned that the hard way.
Gutman Cave
I recommend bringing a good pair of shoes. The paths can be a bit slippery and uneven, but with grippy shoes, you’ll have a much better time exploring!
My advice is to take your time inside the cave. Don’t rush through – there are some amazing rock formations, and just chillin' there made the whole trip way more enjoyable!
Check out the nearby nature trails after visiting the cave. I thought I’d just stick to the cave, but the surrounding scenery was really beautiful and worth the extra time!
Bastion Hill
Bring a good pair of walking shoes. The paths are quite nice but there's a lot to explore and you don’t want your feet to hurt halfway through!
