Mozambique Horse Safari

I recommend wearing sunscreen even on cloudy days; I got a bit burnt because I didn’t think it was necessary. Better safe than sorry!
Vilanculos Beach Lodge

I recommend checking out the local markets before eating at the lodge; you can find fresh seafood and local snacks at a fraction of the price. It’s a fun experience, too!

My advice is to bring some insect repellent. I forgot mine and got eaten alive! Especially in the evenings, those pesky mosquitoes can really ruin your vibe.

I think renting a kayak for a few hours is totally worth it. The views from the water are stunning, plus you can explore quieter spots along the coastline that most tourists miss.

If you're planning to do some island hopping, book your boat trip a day in advance to get the best deals. I didn’t, and ended up paying a bit more than I should have.
Zambezi

Don't skip the early morning safaris! I think the wildlife is way more active then. We saw elephants and lions before 9 AM, it was magical.

I suggest trying the local food at small roadside stalls. It's cheaper and way tastier than the fancy restaurants! I had the best grilled fish for a fraction of the price.

Make sure to pack bug spray! The mosquitoes can be intense, especially at dusk. I got bitten way more than I’d like to admit

I recommend bringing cash, there's not many ATMs around, and some places won't take cards. I ended up scrambling for funds at one point.
Tunduru Botanical Gardens
Tofo Beach

I suggest you hit the beach in the morning around 7 AM. The sun is great for pics and it's way less crowded. Plus the locals are super friendly and awake making it even better!
Wimbe Beach
If you're planning to grab a bite, I'd recommend hitting the local food stalls. They're way cheaper and so much tastier than the restaurants! I think I saved a ton compared to what I would have spent at a sit-down place
Gorongosa National Park
Don't be afraid to haggle a bit on prices for safaris... I saved a good chunk by negotiating with local guides directly rather than booking through agencies... Also, I think mornings are the best time for game drives, around 6 am; lots of wildlife action then

Pack some snacks and water in your bag. The park's facilities are limited and can be pricey. My advice is to bring a jump drive with your fav music; evenings at the campsite were so much more fun with tunes playing while we relaxed.
Lake Malawi
Niassa Reserve
Macaneta Beach

My advice is to take a stroll on the beach at around sunset, say 5:30 PM. The views are absolutely stunning, and it’s less crowded then. Just watch out for the tide; I got caught off guard once!

I suggest you grab some fresh seafood from the local vendors instead of dining at the resorts. You'll get way tastier meals for a fraction of the price. Trust me you don't wanna miss out on that grilled squid or those prawns
