Vondel Park

Don't forget to check out the free open-air concerts or performances in the summer. They can be a real treat to enjoy while relaxing in the park.

Bring a blanket! I had a picnic on the grass, and it made the experience so much more enjoyable. Just grab some snacks from a nearby supermarket to save money.

If you're into cycling rent a bike! It's the best way to see more of the park and get around Amsterdam without spending too much.

If you want to avoid the crowds, visit on a weekday early in the morning around 8 AM. You'll get some peaceful time before it gets busy.
Keukenhof Flower Park

My advice is to arrive right at opening time, around 8 AM. The park is less crowded, and the flowers look incredible in the morning light.

don’t forget your camera, but i recommend taking a break from snapping pics to just enjoy the flowers. it’s easy to get caught up in photos!
Amsterdam Forest
Madurodam Miniature Park

If you’re into photography, go for those golden hour shots! The lighting in the evening makes the miniatures look even more stunning, and it’s a lot less busy too.

I recommend packing a picnic! The food inside is a bit pricey, and while there are snack options, enjoying your own lunch on the grass was a nice way to save money.

Make sure to wear comfy shoes! There’s a lot of walking around to do, and I learned the hard way when my feet started to hurt halfway through the park.

I suggest visiting on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. We went on a Thursday and it felt way more chill with fewer people blocking the view.
Artis Zoo
Maho Beach

I recommend bringing a good camera to catch those epic plane landing shots! The planes come super close, and it's a sight to see. Trust me, you’ll want to capture it!

if you're planning to swim, be cautious of the waves and currents. i underestimated them and got tossed around a bit! always check the flag warnings first

My advice is to arrive before 3 PM if you want to snag a good spot. After that, the beach gets super crowded, and finding a place to sit becomes tricky.
De Hoge Veluwe National Park

Watch out for the weather! I went on a sunny day but still got caught in a downpour. Bringing a light rain jacket or poncho is a good idea just in case.

I think the best way to save money is to bring your own picnic. The cafes can be pricey, and enjoying lunch surrounded by nature makes it even better.

Make sure to rent a bike at the entrance! It's super fun and helps you cover more ground. I think cycling around gives you access to hidden spots you could easily miss by walking.

I suggest bringing a reusable water bottle. There are refill stations all over the park. It saves money and you stay hydrated while exploring
Gemeentegrot

I recommend wearing sturdy shoes. The paths can be a bit uneven and slippery in places, so you'll want to be comfortable as you explore. I almost slipped, and it wasn’t fun!

If you can, grab a combo ticket that includes other attractions nearby. I ended up saving some cash and exploring more of the area, which was great!

I suggest bringing a small flashlight or using your phone light. Some areas can be quite dark and having extra light helped me see the details better.
Hortus Botanicus
Osterpark

I think it’s a good idea to pack a picnic. There are lovely grassy spots, and it saves on food costs. I brought snacks and enjoyed them by the pond, which was a highlight!

I recommend visiting Osterpark in the early morning, around 8 AM. It's so peaceful, and you can catch the sunrise while enjoying a quiet stroll. Trust me, the fresh air is worth it!

I suggest wearing comfy shoes – the park is bigger than you think! I got tired way quicker than I expected, and my feet were not happy by the end of my visit!

My advice is to explore the little hidden paths. I accidentally took a wrong turn and found some amazing sculptures and quiet corners that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise!
