I suggest bringing a small backpack with snacks and water. The experience can take a few hours, and you’ll want something to munch on while waiting.

Definitely book your flight in advance! I saved a bunch by securing my spot a few weeks ahead. Plus, it gives you something to look forward to!

My advice is to wear layers! The weather can change fast up there, so being prepared will help you stay comfortable during your flight.
Glacier Helicopters
G Force Paragliding

If you’re able, arrive about 30 minutes early to fill out forms and get prepped. I ran a bit late and felt rushed, missing some of the best info from the instructors

I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. You'll be surprised how much you move around during the flight. I wore flip-flops, and it wasn’t the best choice.

Don’t skip the photo and video package they offer. I was hesitant, but the footage is absolutely worth it! It makes for great memories and you wouldn't want to miss those epic views.
NZONE Skydive Queenstown

I suggest checking the weather forecast the day before. If it looks cloudy or rainy, you might want to reschedule for a clearer day. I did, and it made all the difference.
Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters
iFLY Indoor Skydiving Queenstown

My advice is to wear comfy clothes and skip the heavy meals beforehand. Trust me, you don't want to feel weighed down while you're zipping around in the air – I regretted my burger before flying!

I suggest booking your session online ahead of time. It saves you some money and guarantees your spot, especially in peak seasons. I learned the hard way when I showed up and had to wait way longer than expected.

If you're nervous don't worry – the instructors are super chill and help you out. But I recommend practicing some basic body positions beforehand; it really helped me feel more in control during my flight.
Glenorchy Air

Don't forget your camera! The views are absolutely stunning, and you don't want to miss capturing those incredible landscapes. I almost forgot mine in the excitement!

Don't forget your camera but also set your phone to airplane mode – trust me, those GPS signals can interfere with flight equipment. I almost missed some epic shots trying to adjust my settings mid-air
Mount Ruapehu Scenic

My advice is to bring a snack and some water; the price at the cafes up there is a bit steep. I regretted spending way more than I intended grabbing a quick bite!

I think the earlier you can go the better—try to catch a flight around 8 AM. The views at sunrise are stunning, and you’ll dodge the crowds!

I recommend checking the weather before you go. The conditions can change fast—our flight got delayed due to clouds, so we waited a while. Don't waste your day if the weather looks dodgy!
Classic Flights

I think it’s best to arrive at least 30 minutes early. The staff are super friendly and can answer questions or give you tips to make the experience even more exciting. I almost skipped this part and would have missed out!
